Course Description: The course examines what law is and what law ought to be. It commences with different definitions of law and then offers analyses of the functions of law in society. The course compares and contrasts law with morality, focusing mainly on their divergence and intersection. The third part discusses some important legal concepts. The last part looks at different fields of law, dimensions of law, the judiciary, the law-making processes, the settlement of disputes, and the legal profession.
